Event Description:

The American Cancer Society Climb to Conquer Cancer, the annual event where thousands of people dedicated to saving lives from cancer hike to the summit of South Mountain, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020. 

Thousands of participants hike to save lives from all types of cancer and serve to bring awareness to the disease and the lifesaving work of the Society. As they climb 5.5 miles to the top of South Mountain, participants will also have the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors and honor loved ones lost.

The Climb to Conquer Cancer of Phoenix is a non-competitive event open to all ages and abilities. Participants can climb as part of a team or as an individual, and registration is open now at A half loop, 3-mile route is also available, and festivals to celebrate participants and the event will take place at the top and bottom of the mountain. Registration prior to Feb. 29 is $40 and includes an event t-shirt, snacks and entertainment. Event registration will be $50 on the day of event and t-shirts are first come, first served.

Donations raised at this unique fundraising event benefit local programs that help cancer patients like Hope Lodge, which provides cancer patients and a caregiver a home away from home if they need to travel for treatments, and Road To Recovery, a transportation program to get cancer patients to their lifesaving treatments. 

This is the 37th year of the Climb to Conquer Cancer in Phoenix. In 2019, more than 3,000 participants hiked South Mountain and raised over $390,000 to support the American Cancer Society mission.
