Upcoming Mac Miller Tribute Project in the Works, Calls for Fan Participation

Fans can call in to share their 'stories, thoughts and wishes'

July 22, 2020

A new Mac Miller project is on the way and the late rapper’s team is calling on his devoted fans to take part in its creation.

Two years after his untimely death, Miller’s legacy will continue to live on, thanks in part to his estate and former label Warner Records. On Tuesday an official announcement was made that a “yet-to-be-titled project” is in the works, to celebrate Malcom and his music, as “his art touched so many lives, in so many ways.”

In that same announcement it was also noted that a toll-free number had already been set up to allow fans to call in and offer their "stories, thoughts, and wishes," which would somehow be incorporated into the posthumous project. Those interested in participating were then directed to the following website.

The awaited untitled project would be Mac's second posthumous release, following the January 2020 release of Circles, a counterpart album to it’s predecessor Swimming. The album was completed by producer Jon Brion, as he was involved in the recording sessions at the time of Miller’s death, and also worked with the late rapper on his previous album Swimming, released in 2018.

No release date or additional information about what fans can expect from the upcoming project has been disclosed at this time. As personal fan’s of Mac, for now we’ll leave our message, and like the rest, wait patiently until this surprise project arrives.
