Jennifer Aniston Says 'Friends' Reboot Would Never Be 'As Good As What It Was'

October 9, 2019

Jennifer Aniston is spilling the Central Perk tea on her thoughts about a “Friends” reboot.

While fans have been clamoring for a reunion of the beloved NBC series, any plans to bring back the show’s six main stars has never materialized since the program went off the air in 2004.

During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” Aniston revealed that while she still misses working on the iconic sitcom, she believes reprising her role of Rachel Green would tarnish the legacy of the Must-See TV series, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"I honestly think we would love it," she said of working with her former castmates again to Stern.

"I really think there is an idea that if there is a reboot of the show, it won’t be even close to as good as what it was, so why do it?”

She added: "It would ruin it.”

While the “Morning Show” actress may not be keen on reuniting with Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer on screen, “the whole gang” recently got together in real life for dinner in Los Angeles.

“(David) Schwimmer was in town, and we all happened to have a window of time, so we all got together," she said of the evening which took place at Cox’s home.
"Oh my God, we laughed so hard.”

The night in question was partially memorialized in a photo Cox shared on Instagram alongside Aniston and LeBlanc.

Although she made no reference to Kudrow, Perry or Schwimmer being there, the actress included the caption: “A rare night and I love it.”  We now know just how special an evening it was.

Last month, “Friends” celebrated the 25th anniversary of its premiere on September 22, 1994.
